Faces of Urban Forestry – Dave Schindler

Dave is an ISA Certified Aborist, and Foreman at Cheyenne Urban Forestry Division. He started his career with Cheyenne Urban Forestry in the summer of 1986, and has been enjoying the variety of tree care duties the job offers ever since. He says that the most satisfying thing about his job is seeing the trees he has planted over the years grow to be large enough for people to enjoy. Dave’s favorite tree is a bur oak.
Dave grew up in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, and received his diploma in Forest Harvesting from Duluth A.V.T.I. He then went on to receive his A.S. in Urban Forestry from North Dakota State University.
During his time off from work, Dave enjoys hanging out with his family, going on walks with their dog, woodworking, and reading. He’s been married to his wife, Ann, for twenty-seven years, and they have two great kids, Nolan and Mara.
Cheyenne Urban Forestry is lucky to have such a knowledgeable and experienced arborist on staff. Dave leads the large tree crew, and provides the majority of the on-the-job tree felling and large tree work training to new employees.
