Faces Of Urban Forestry – Tim Cowley

Tim began working part time as a forestry technician with Cheyenne Urban Forestry over a year ago. He saw it as a great way to enjoy and learn something new each day, after retiring from a lifetime of service including 23 years in the Wyoming and Californian Air National Guard, and 22 years as a DOD Civilian. Tim is a lifelong Cheyenne resident, and enjoys riding his bike and motorcycle, reading, science fiction, building aircraft and military models, travel, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family includes one son and daughter-in-law, one granddaughter, five step grandchildren, and three cats at home who are his “men in black”
Tim’s favorite tree is sweetgum because of its brilliant fall color.
Cheyenne’s climate may be too harsh for sweetgum, but be sure to look for its unique star-shaped leaves when you travel. Tim enjoys planting and nourishing trees for the next generation to enjoy. Cheyenne Urban Forestry is lucky to have someone like Tim, who brings a sense of humor, hard work ethic, and enthusiasm to work every day!
